Exxon Mobil Posts New Record for Profit

IRVING, Texas - Exxon Mobil Corp. had a quarter for the record books. The world's largest publicly traded oil company said Thursday high oil and natural-gas prices helped its third-quarter profit surge almost 75 percent to $9.92 billion, the largest quarterly profit for a U.S. company ever, and it was the first to ring up more than $100 billion in quarterly sales.

They are not out to lose money, that's for sure. There is no problem with getting oil. Just made up for people, because they know the people will pay whatever to get gas.

I would say something that might get the forum (R)'s upset, but it sounds as though our good friends Karl Rove, Scooter Livy, and Dick Cheney are keeping the Republicans attention for the time being

Any other thing, the practice would be price gouging, the problem is the big oil has the connections and the money being filtered thru the right people for it to happen.

I mean gas that is already at the local Exxon didn't go up while it was done there $1.00. They paid x for it, but due to possible later decreases, they charged x+y. Now when they order the next gas, they may have to pay x+y for it but by that time, we'll get z added on to our price, and if the next batch they order goes down, we don't get the discount till it comes in.

The increases show up the day they can sock it to us.
The decreases show up when they get it.

That would be like when you have a snow coming in, going to Food City and the bread on the shelves jumping up right then and there.

It's not a Republican thing, it's a political thing. Tell me who in Senate or Congress don't like to fatten their pockets any chance they get. Remember who was giving there self a raise every year until the people caught on.
